Berlin (dts news agency) – The intensive care units in German hospitals are reporting fewer and fewer corona patients. On Thursday evening, 220 Covid 19 patients were reported nationwide who are receiving intensive care. This is the lowest value since all hospitals were obliged to publish the figures in April.

With Brandenburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Saxony-Anhalt there are now three federal states that have no corona patients at all in an intensive care unit. The figures published by the Robert Koch Institute show that of the 16,345 currently active corona infected people, only 1.3 percent are treated in an intensive care unit. This is also the lowest value since the beginning of the series of numbers.

The number of new infections every day rose from a low of 337 reports in mid-July to over 1,300 a little over a week ago, and since then the average has fallen again by around 150.
