Berlin (dts news agency) – The Green Bundestag member Danyal Bayaz expects many witnesses to be invited by a future Wirecard investigation committee, above all Finance Minister Olaf Scholz (SPD) and Economics Minister Peter Altmaier (CDU), but also Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) . The federal government had advertised Wirecard abroad “when there were already blatant allegations” against the group, Bayaz told the “Mannheimer Morgen” (Thursday edition). “Nobody sees any real misconduct or responsibility. It cannot stay that way.” He expects the Wirecard investigation committee to start in October. “It will be a matter of identifying the causes and eliminating the deficiencies,” said Bayaz.

“We have to set up our financial supervision and the regulations for auditors so that something like this does not happen again, if possible.” The Greens, FDP and Left want to vote together for a committee of inquiry into the Wirecard case. Bayaz sits on the Bundestag Finance Committee and hopes that his parliamentary group will propose him to the committee.
